Accreditation is a comprehensive assessment process of the suitability of an educational unit or program, the results of which are manifested in the form of recognition and a suitability rating in a form published by an independent and professional institution. This accreditation is carried out as an effort to ensure that the accreditation process is carried out properly, with objective, comprehensive, fair, transparent, accountable and professional principles.

School/madrasah accreditation aims to:

1. Provide information on the eligibility of schools/madrasahs that are implemented;
2. Provide recognition of eligibility rankings;
3. Map the quality of education referring to national education standards; and
4. Provide accountability to stakeholders as a form of public accountability.
